On Saturday 27 August our UITGELEZEN-evening takes place in the open air! Regular panel members Fien Sabbe and Anna Luyten and our new written & spoken word programmer Sarah Bekambo take their guests to the Bijloke site to exchange the most adventurous book tips of the moment. In between, a musician will provide a well-sounding intermezzo. Food for literary wolverines and aficionados of the linen back!
Together with special guest Wim Opbrouck they talk about the new book Mungo by Booker Prize winner Douglas Stuart, an overwhelming book in which the author of Shuggie Bain once again shows his literary class. Then comes Breasts and Eggs by literary phenomenon Mieko Kawakami, a breathtaking book according to bestselling author Haruki Murakami.
Furthermore, they will discuss Wim Opbrouck's double debut: Het lied van de bultrug en Hij wist het niet. During the interludes, Kapinga Gysel will provide a touch of soul. With the Room 13 Orchestra, she brought Amy Winehouse's legendary record Back to Black back to life in her own way.

Mieko Kawakami - Breasts and Eggs
