ZOMERBAR: Phasma Trio

A techno parade at Bijloke Wonderland? Should be possible. Especially when classically trained top musicians perform it live. A finalist of the Big Little Music Competition, the Phasma Trio breathed life into the concert hall with spirited power play and funky rhythms. Flutist Valerie Burndorfer, clarinettist Santiago Luruena and pianist Orfeas Demis found each other in their love for classical chamber music that is not made for drowsy dreaming. For our festival, they put together a fascinating programme that will leave you short of ears. From a thrilling tarantella by Saint-Saëns to bittersweet waltzes by Shostakovich to sparking dance beats by Connesson: say again that the festival summer is on its last legs in September.
