ZOMERBAR: Trio Malatya

Many group names are a reference to musical greats or lofty Greek concepts. But when Yassine Posman, Jacob Van Durme and Taha Posman set out to find the right name for their trio, they simply borrowed it from the pita bar where they ended up after rehearsals. As a finalist of the Big Little Music Competition, this trio from Ghent made nice weather with spiky music for clarinet, cello and piano. No coincidence that not much later they pocketed both the audience award and the first prize of the Supernova competition. At Bijloke Wonderland, these wonderboys bring Schumann, Beethoven, Piazzolla and more to the Bijloke garden.
